2008: We didn't get to show much at all this year, we only went to four shows. Of those four shows, we were best doe in show twice, once in New Jersey with Lesniak-Hill S-T Saphire and once at the New York State Fair with Lesniak-Hill CL-LA Nadzia. At the New York State Fair we won Grand and Reserve Grand champion Alpine, Grand and Reserve Champion Lamancha, and Grand and reserve grand champion Toggenburg. We also attended the Eastern States Exposition (The Big E) where we won grand champion and best of breed alpine, grand champion and best of breed lamancha, reserve grand champion and best of breed toggenburg. We were able to finish three does this year which include Lesniak-Hill S-T Saphire, Lesniak-Hill R-M Roberta, and Lesniak-Hill GH Ariel. We are already looking forward to next years show season, where we hope to attend more than four shows.
We also got linear appraised this year. We are happy to say that we had nine does and one buck appraise 90 or higher and four does appraise 89. Our highest score was a 92. We were pretty happy with our results.
Lesniak-Hill started back in 1996 with the purchase of two alpine does. That was just a start. Later the next year our herd grew to two Alpines, three LaManchas, and three Toggenburgs. The growth has never stopped. In 2005 we had 28 Sr. does, around 40 kids and 9 bucks. We got our first ADGA rosette in 1997 when a Toggenburg doe named Gyoredale Amber's Sabrina took Jr. Grand Champion in one ring and Reserve Jr. Grand Champion at another ring during a two ring show. The next highlight in our showing career came in 1999 when we had our first Best Doe in Show win with Little-Rainbow C-D J-Anne who also became our first permanent champion that same year. Since then we have only grown. In 2001 we attended our first National Show doing fairly well and having multiple does make the cut and one place second in her class. In 2004 we have the whole herd appraised with four does getting scores of 90 or better, and the rest of the herd getting scores in the high 80s. In 2005 we had our best year with a total of four Best Doe in Show wins and finishing five does who previously had no championship legs, and we also got championship legs on many others does. Now we keep a herd of show quality Alpine, LaMancha, and Toggenburg does and bucks.
